Come and join us for a laid back night of stand up comedy, live music – and maybe something more - at The Capitol.

Our first gig in our Bar at The Capitol will be hosted by Tamar Broadbent

Tamar is a writer, improviser, comedian, actor, singer-songwriter and banana bread fan based in London.  She is a writer of scripts, sketches, comedy shows, musicals, songs and fiction. And blurbs. (She wrote this blurb.)

With five solo comedy shows under her belt, one of which, Get Ugly, was nominated for Best Comedy at Fringeworld and Best Life transferred to the SoHo Playhouse in New York, she's a force to be reckoned with in the comedy world.

What sets Tamar apart is her unique ability to weave catchy, funny story-songs into her performances.  Listen to her catchy, funny story-songs here.

Tamar has written for BBC Radio 4’s The Now Show, Sketchtopia and Fresh From the Fringe. She wrote and starred in a web pilot based on her one-woman show Best Life with Fiction Valley (Fremantle) NL, and wrote the book for Club Mex, a coming-of-age musical comedy, co-written with John-Victor and produced by Global Musicals (Six).

Matty Hutson - Hailing from the vibrant town of Warrington, Matty Hutson is not your average musical comedian; he's a comedic virtuoso and a music producer extraordinaire. Starting his career with a bang, Matty became a regular finalist in comedy competitions, quickly establishing himself as a rising star. Today, you can catch him delivering laughs in comedy clubs all across the UK. If that's not enough to impress you, he's also graced the airwaves of Radio 4's "The Now Show." But that's not all – Matty has cultivated a dedicated online following, with his hilarious videos frequently going viral on Twitter, Instagram and TikTok. Get ready to laugh until your sides hurt!

Christian Reilly is a name synonymous with comedy excellence. His comedic journey began with a memorable gig in the Perrier Award-winning show, "Rich Hall is Otis Lee Crenshaw." Since then, he's become a global comedy circuit headliner, making audiences worldwide roar with laughter. Christian has graced the stages of numerous international comedy festivals, tickled the funny bones of BBC radio and TV audiences, and starred in four series of the Chortle Award-winning stand-up and sketch show, "Richard Herring: As It Occurs To Me."

In 2015, the BBC Radio 4 documentary "Lives In a Landscape" followed Christian on his road to the Edinburgh Fringe. He even took his comedy down under, captivating audiences at Perth's Fringeworld festival in 2016. With an impressive run at the Edinburgh Festival since 1999, Christian continues to deliver comedy gold.
